Frequently asked questions

How accurate is this calculator?

Income tax is computed with the official BMF payroll-tax algorithm (Programmablaufplan) for 2025 and 2026, the same basis professional tools use. Social contributions use the current statutory rates and ceilings. Your actual payslip can still differ due to individual factors.

Which deductions are included?

Income tax and the solidarity surcharge (and church tax if selected), plus the employee share of pension, unemployment, health and long-term care insurance — including the childless care surcharge and Saxony's split.

Is this official tax advice?

No. It is an estimate for orientation only and is not tax or legal advice. For binding figures, consult a tax adviser or the Finanzamt.

About this tool

The salary calculator estimates your German net (take-home) pay using the official BMF payroll-tax algorithm (Programmablaufplan) for 2025 and 2026, together with the current social-insurance rates and contribution ceilings.

Set your tax class, federal state, church tax, age, children and public or private health insurance. Open Advanced settings for benefits in kind, a company car or bike, company pension (bAV), capital-forming benefits, one-time payments, Minijob/Midijob and a reverse net-to-gross calculation. Results are a guide, not a substitute for an official payslip.
